Our departure date has finally arrived!! We are all packed, ready to go, just waiting for David to pick us up to head for the airport! We are flying KLM to Amsterdam; then Amsterdam to Budapest. We board the Scenic Tours Riverboat Ms Emerald at 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. We have a welcome dinner and meet our fellow passengers Monday evening. Then Tuesday morning, we do our first excursion in Budapest where we have selected the Thermal Baths. Charlotte Loaring (our son-in-law’s sister) has been to the thermal baths in Budapest, and she was telling us on the weekend how great it is although she did mention that most people go “nude” although you can wear a bathing suit. I think we will both be wearing our bathing suits!! In the afternoon, we are free to explore Budapest before setting sail for Vienna.
Tuesday evening we set sail on the Danube River to Vienna. We arrive in Vienna Wednesday afternoon;and on Wednesday evening, the Scenic Enrich highlight includes a glass of Austrian “Sekt” at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein. Then an enchanting private Viennese evening concert featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart.
