3 weeks to go before we leave for Europe!

We are getting closer and closer now; a whole year of anticipation and it is almost upon us. We have received our iterinary of events from Scenic Tours and this is getting us even more anxious to get on the trip.  I will be blogging as much as I can while away and hopefully keep everyone up to date.

Another exciting piece of news is that David and Jenn will be moving into their new condo on October 4th and they are definitely getting excited now; going to Ikea to buy some things they need and our basement is starting to get full of packed boxes ready to go.  We are very happy for David and Jenn and wish them the best of luck in their new home!
Our two little granddaughters are still our pride and joy!  Little Selena is now crawling everywhere and is a speed demon!  If you take your eye off her for a second, she is gone like a flash.  Annika just started Nursery School at the Salvation Army this past week and she is really enjoying it – especially painting.  We already have a special painting on our fridge that she made for us.  She also has started her dance classes and is loving that as well.  Breanne and James are now ecstatic to finally have their backyard totally fenced in and Mavie finally has a safe place to do his business……I wonder who will have the job of cleaning up after him???
Well, stay tuned for further updates to our trip!

Guelph Lake 2 Triathlon – September 3, 2011

It is so hard to believe that this is the first triathlon we have been to this year.  After the last few years of going to triathlons almost every weekend, we felt that the summer was missing something this year even though it was nice to have a few weekends to ourselves.  David decided to enter the Guelph Lake 2 Triathlon almost last minute and we were very excited to go to at least one triathlon this year.  James was also doing the run part of a relay so it was a very nice “family oriented day”.  Jenn’s parents (Jim and Janet) also came out to watch their future son-in-law participate!  James’ relay team came 1st overall in the Relay Championship and David came 4th overall in the triathlon – an awesome feat considering he has not trained all year except for running and only got on his bike and did some swimming for the last two weeks.  We were very proud of both our son and son-in-law!  It was a very nice day to end the summer.  See the YouTube video below for some pictures of our day.
