We are now in A Coruna, Spain after a day at sea on Monday. I did a blog entry for when we were in Weymouth/Portland, England and after sitting here in an internet café in Spain, I couldn’t get it to publish as I think I had too many pictures. The internet is very slow here, so it may be that the pictures are holding it up. Brian ordered a beer at this café while I was trying to publish and then said, okay this is taking too long I need another beer and then my writer timed out! So while he is drinking his second beer I thought I would just write a short note.
We had a great day “at sea” yesterday, we attended a lot of things on the boat including “Dancing with the Stars” and we learned how to do the Cha Cha but we were not chosen to be in the dance off at the end! Oh well, we will try for the jive on the next day at sea near the end of our trip! Brian also went in a black-jack tournament in the Casino and he is actually on the board for the next round in a week when they continue the tournament. Hopefully he doesn’t get knocked off the board before the play-off on the last day at sea. He could potentially win $500 which would be nice!
We arrived in A Coruna Spain today and it is very hot here – 29 degrees. We walked along the promenade to Castille St. Anton which is an old fortress and then walked to the Torre de Hercules (Tower of Hercules) which is an old lighthouse (which is still used) and is over 2000 years old. We then headed back to the ship to get my laptop and try to download my posting for Weymouth but as I said above, it didn’t work. Anyway, I will try again at the next port if we find an internet café.
The food on the ship is absolutely amazing. We are very impressed. I also have attended the afternoon tea which is really nice as well with all the little sandwiches and scones with jam and clotted cream. We walked 7 kilometers today here in A Coruna, so hopefully that helped (I hope) wear off some of this food!
Anyway, Brian is almost finished his beer, so I better try posting this and see if it will work!
